St. Margarets Church
St Margaret's Church:
St. Margaret’s Church is a grade II listed building dating to the 12th century. Some of the gravestones in the churchyard are listed as grade I. Three bench ends inside the Church were made in Germany in 1300. A 'mounting block' (used to help riders mount their horses) which is of c.1900, is inside the church grounds. Remains of a Roman villa are found to the south of the church, while a walled cemetery was discovered to the north. The church is built from locally quarried stone ('Kentish Ragstone').
